Why the Encodr number is lower

Studying on your own usually means re-reading notes and chapters you already half-know, right alongside the material you actually need first exposure to - most of that re-reading time is spent refreshing things you weren't about to forget yet. Spaced review only resurfaces something right as it's about to fade, using increasing gaps (1, 2, 5, 7, 10, 14, 21, 30, 45, 60, 90 days) instead of flat re-reading. That's why the same retention takes measurably fewer hours when review is targeted instead of blanket - the harder and denser the material, the more low-value re-reading there is to cut. If you list topics above, the table below also spreads first exposure to each one across the earlier part of your time, then schedules review passes at those same gaps before your exam.
