What counts as BCPM?

AMCAS (the AAMC's centralized application service) splits your transcript into BCPM (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math - including biochem, statistics, and most computer science) and AO ("all other" - everything else, from English to psychology to electives). Medical schools see both your cumulative GPA and your BCPM/science GPA separately, and a strong BCPM GPA specifically is one of the first things admissions committees screen for. Grades are converted on AMCAS's standard 4.0 scale (A/A+ = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, down to F = 0.0) and weighted by credit hours, exactly like this calculator does. Nothing you enter here is saved or sent anywhere - it's calculated entirely in your browser.
