Extending your streak specifically is treated as the loudest moment in the app on purpose - a full-screen celebration, not a small toast easy to miss. It used to only fire when you exited a session, which meant the single biggest moment in the app got the quietest treatment if you kept going past it. Now it fires the instant the streak actually extends, as an overlay on top of your session - not a page navigation, so a live study run is never interrupted or torn down to show it.
