These Terms govern your use of Encodr (the "app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.
Encodr is a spaced-repetition study tool. Some decks and features are free; we may offer paid subscriptions or features in the future, in which case additional terms covering billing and cancellation will apply and will be presented before you pay for anything.
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Encodr.
Don't use Encodr to do anything illegal, to scrape or redistribute our content in bulk, to reverse-engineer the app, or to interfere with the service for other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Decks, cards, and other study material provided within Encodr are owned by us or our licensors and are for your personal, non-commercial study use. You keep ownership of any content you create yourself (e.g. custom decks or notes).
To run the app we need your permission to handle that content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, reproduce and display it as part of providing the service. If you publish a deck, or share one with a share code, that license extends to showing it to the users you have made it available to and to letting them add and study their own copy of it. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other users have already made.
Only publish content you have the right to publish. Do not upload material that infringes someone else's copyright - see our Copyright / DMCA policy.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on Encodr. Do not publish or share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that impersonates another person.
You can report any published deck from within the app, and you can remove a friend at any time. We review reports and may hide, unpublish or delete content, and suspend or terminate accounts, at our discretion and without notice. We do not pre-screen everything people publish, and we are not responsible for content created by users.
You can connect an AI assistant to your account. Anything it does - creating, editing or deleting your decks, cards and progress - counts as activity under your account and is your responsibility. You can see and disconnect connected assistants at any time in the You tab.
Encodr is provided "as is." Study content is for educational purposes - we don't guarantee it's error-free or sufficient on its own to pass any exam or certification. Use your own judgment and other sources alongside it.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Encodr and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including exam results or academic outcomes.
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
